Subject: Sound is not THAT great
Where's the bass? Way too much treble...sounds very cheap...I'm worried because I have on order from Chris the CA-14 and 9100 preamp...i think a stand alone R09-HR sounds actually better...What am i missing???

Subject: Peekskill Show
Man you nailed this for me... What a Christmas present. I was in the 12th row for this killer show (it blew the NYU Skirball show away the night before). Mike sounds great. Derek is a bit lower than one would like but no fault of yours as you know he blew one of his amps earlier in the show..
Thank you

Subject: Thanks for the upload Sir!
I was there, two rows behind you it seems. What a fantastic show. Derek was phenomenal. It's so cool to have the record of it now. Thanks again for your effort.

Notes

Derek Trucks Band
Paramount Theater
Peekskill, NY
December 11, 2009

Of the three recent DTB shows I have seen (also 12/3, 12/10) this was was hands-down my favorite. Whether due to the setlist or alignment of the stars, the energy of this one was higher. The crowd in Peekskill is usually relatively sedate, but not this night and maybe the band fed off the enthusiasm.

Young Funk is one of the old tunes the band has been dusting off on the way to their touring "hiatus". They dug even deeper into the vaults with Every Day Boy and Ain't that Lovin' You.

Blind, Crippled and Crazy through Leavin' Trunk was essentially a long medley. Listen carefully to the one note transition between songs- it's masterful!

The audio is also very good. If you want to experience sitting in the front row of a DTB show, download and crank up this recording.
